Why SwitchBait?
SwitchBait is a fishing website that is centered around blogging, yet still maintains a basic forum for more informal posts. You are probably asking… Why blog? A blog is very different than a forum post, as it can be easily syndicated to other platforms like facebook, twitter, and any other social networking site or other blogs. A blog post is also easier to be indexed by google, which will in turn create more views.
You might already have a fishing blog, and that is great, because one purpose of SwitchBait was to combine all outside fishing blogs and put them into one fishing community for everyone to view and comment on. If you would like to RSS your current blog into SwitchBait, we would be happy to do so. After all, the purpose of writing a blog is for people to see, and who better to see it than your peers with the same interests. If you do not have a blog, then start posting on SwitchBait Today! You can pull up your personal blog address under the “Authors” widget on the bottom right of the website. Your name will only show up after you have posted at least one blog entry. Why use a free WordPress/Blogger blog when you can have a free specialized fishing community blog that can still be syndicated the same way, however gains much more exposure to your target audience?
When you post a great blog, it will be reviewed and edited to be on the front page of the website as a featured blog post.
If blogging is not your thing, we still have a classic forum for quick fishing reports, asking mechanical questions from our on-site mechanic, and or simply posting general rubbish.
