South Bay Bite

Saturday January 5th, 2013is real.I took a trip down to the South Bay. I needed something else to do, considering, how much time we have been spending in the chilly waters of the Susiun bay, Honker bay and San Pablo Bay. ?There is nothing more frustrating than looking at sturgeon on the meter that just won’t bite. ? I have been seeing Hinkley’s reports. His reports were good enough for me to take a look down there.? I only saw 2 boats fishing the area all day. We did have to wait on some current but as soon as it... Read more

Saturday November 17th, 2012BARBARIAN SportfishingSturgeon fishing is good.? The fish are piled up.? My book is wide open. If you can fish during the week I can take you. It all starts in Pittsburg.? We have been spending the outgoing tides around the PGE plant and the incoming tide at Chain Isl. . . . ? This is an ever changing environment. Smacking Fat Dinos

Thursday October 18th, 2012? We cherish the good days, shun the bad. ?I thank my higher power for the opportunity to share my day with others.Today was a great day. The fish bit good when the tide was ripping.? Honestly we didn’t mark many sturgeons today.? But the ones we found or sucked to the boat were hungry.? ? We started with 8 rods out and baits scattered around the boat in 62 foot of water. ? ?62 foot is a hard depth to fish in Pittsburg. The bottom is soft and slipping is a common occurrence. We definitely... Read more

Fantastic Halibut Fishing This Week!

Saturday August 11th, 2012? It was a great week for halibut and salmon and I had some great customers lined up for this week’s smaller tide set. ?I wanted to make sure we got some halibut.? The halibut were biting on the last of the flood and most of the ebb. This has been a pattern for years on the South side.? I found some fair fishing (trolling) at Angel Island on Tuesday. Sneaky Pete and Rod came to help out on a scouting trip. The intention was to find some fish inside if the weather got bad. We did find 5... Read more

Sunday August 5th, 2012Busy life gets cumbersome.? The kids are out of school. Teresa is off for the summer and I am trying to spread out some vacation days to accommodate them all. All that and fishing with my great clients, Saturday’s and Sundays are out because I have to be in the plant working my regular job. .? ? The fishing has been challenging.
